I'd bet the large majority of you use YouTube for something, and it's going to affect far more than just "kid friendly content". If you like toys then you've probably heard all the talk about COPPA recently. There's a link to a very informative video in my bio with further links to the FTC site where you can voice your concerns. This is a big deal. Most people use YouTube for something, and this is going to butterfly out to affect more than just toy channels. If the FTC deems it "kid friendly", it's at risk of vanishing. Regardless of whether it's the creator terrified of a $42,000 fine per video even if it's not intended for kids, or the parent that allows their kid to watch YouTube. COPPA could affect anything that has to do with toys, comics, video games, movies, music and more. On a personal note, I've been urged for years to start a YouTube channel for my work. To share how I do what I do, and last month I finally launched my AC Toy Design YouTube channel. I don't earn money from it yet, but COPPA is discouraging enough for someone like me, who makes content for the adult collector, to just shut everything down regardless. I've enjoyed making videos this past month. I'm good at it and things can only grow and get better.
