Kenshiro (FOTNS)
This figure is dedicated to one of my best friends and hip hop wizard, Sum Kid. He and I met in the early 90’s in junior high and fell in with a crowd of Korean folks that introduced us to the world of Fist of the North Star. I’ll never forget watching the anime movie for the first time with him, surrounded by kim-chi and dried anchovies flowing out of junior high lockers.
Kenshiro here is the star of FOTNS, and ranks right up there with Snake Eyes, Optimus Prime, and Boba Fett in the long list of characters that shaped many of our childhoods. It was a commission for a man with good taste. Ken started out as a ML Boomerang base, AIM boots, Wonder Man arms, movie Hawkeye shoulders, Superman head, Drax belt, and Batman shoulder pads. I sculpted the hair, jacket, forearm details, and lower pants. Finished him off with a leather and steel paint job. I’m most proud of the hair. Had to start over several times, and I am going to use it in a new tutorial for sculpting. Hope the new owner enjoys him as much as I did making him. Thanks Terry!
