ICON, Young Justice

This was the character that got me into customizing. I’ve loved comics since I was kid, but about 2 years ago I randomly Googled the Milestone characters and came across the great LooseCollector’s custom Icon figure, and I was hooked!

For those that don’t know him, Icon was one of the character from the Milestone publishing company that was started by a group of African-American artists and writers, including Denys Cowan, and the late great Dwayne McDuffie. The company and characters enjoyed mild success mostly due to the Static Shock cartoon, but later the company and characters disappeared. It wasn’t until the late 2000’s that the characters were re-introduced, this time, into the DC Universe, and under the watchful eye of creator Dwayne McDuffie.
Most recently Icon has gained popularity as a steady character on the popular Young Justice cartoon (I’d love to see Hardware blast through the Justice League some day). Ergo, I wanted to give him a more streamed down and simple look, specifically in his cape.

Icon was an Adam Strange with a moded Batman cape and a Mr. Terrific head, some fodder and a custom paint job. Mixed my own “Icon Orange.”
